An implant is a restoration used to replace missing tooth/teeth. A titanium implant is surgically placed into the jaw bone. After 3 to 6 month healing time, a crown/crowns are then placed on the supports. Advantages of implants are that it is a permanent restoration, it does not require restoration of adjacent teeth, and it will not develop cavity. A disadvantage is that it takes 3 to 6 month to complete the treatment.
